PCB milling with DIY milling machine

Here is a demo of a High speed PCB milling with DIY CNC machine. For software I am using Linuxcnc.

Co-founder of Makerbot, Bre Pettis purchases milling machine firm Other Machine

Former CEO and co-founder of 3D printing company Makerbot, Bre Pettis has bought a non 3D printing relevant company – the CNC milling system firm Other Machine.

American firm, Other Machine operates from Berkeley and is the designer of the Othermill Pro desktop milling system. Bre Pettis at present functions as CEO and founding father of Bre & Co, founded in the year 2016, the firm creates tailor-made 3D printed gifts and heirlooms.

Othermill Pro

Other Machine presented its Othermill product line on Kickstarter with the original machine raising in excess of $311,000 back in 2013. The most up-to-date system, the Othermill Pro, at present is sold for $3,199.

Employing its 3-axis toolhead, the machine can mill Printed Circuits and carve 3D shapes. The most crucial characteristic of the product is being able to be incorporated in an office setup. The Othermill Pro is sufficiently little to fit on a workdesk, silent enough to feature in a social working environment and can speed up production processes by creating in-house in lieu of outsourcing.

Coupled with hardware devices, the Berkeley firm furthermore has created its own Otherplan software for the CNC machines. Bre Pettis claims he is “thrilled” to invest in Other Machine as,

The Othermill Pro is surely an awesome milling machine which is so precise that electrical engineers can easily mill Printed Circuits with 6 mil traces and develop Printed Circuits quicker than a Printed Circuit service. I’m ecstatic to return in the arena helping innovators.

Printed Circuits and electronics

CEO of Other Machine, Dr. Danielle Applestone clarifies, “I stay up for building on our commitment of accessible prototyping machines for expert engineers and empowering countless of students using the Othermill Pro to learn and make their ideas possible.”

Applestone likewise pointed out she will keep on in her role as CEO and is “excited to have Bre’s help.”
